By the winds of Zaonezhje

8 days/7 nights

  1. This exceptional tour is on sailing catamarans, that runs through the picturesque Unitskaja Bay and Kizhski Skerries in the second largest lake in Europe, Lake Onega;
  2. You will see traces of one of the most ancient and destructive earthquakes in European history at the former Razloma site and “black beaches”  - the only place in the world where schungite lies on the earth surface;   
  3. You will visit the pearl of the route – the open-air museum “Kizhi”.

Day 1.      Welcome greetings in Petrozavodsk. Transfer to village Unitsa (190 km). Campfire lunch. Safety rules instructions. Passage to Gabostrov (14 km). Dinner and overnight  accommodations, outdoors.
Days 2-7. This route includes:  Gabostrov Island, Kolgostov Island – the former Rozloma site, The village at Pegrema, the village of Uzkie Salmi, the village of Sennaja Guba, Kizhi Island, Eglovo Island, the village of Velikaja Guba (110 km).  You will also enjoy the Midnight sun, shelters in the settlements that disappeared long ago. An incredible journey, totally among the ancient history and  present nature, still intact, awaits the
traveler here. Along the route you are free to fish for Onega salmon (no license needed). Bed and board outdoors.
Day 8.      Start the day with a hearty campfire breakfast. Transfer to the village Velikaja Guba – Petrozavodsk.

The cost covers:
• 3 meals a day
• sailing catamarans driven by the ”Baikal 22” engine
• equipment rental: sleeping bags, tourists mats, life jackets, hermetic packing materials etc.
• visiting Kizhi-museum
• transportation and guiding services
• boderland permit
• insurance

Groups of 6-12 persons.
Provided instructor in each catamaran. During the passage tourists supervised by the instructors chop firewood, set up tents and take part in cooking meals on the open fire.
